Her Excellency Najla bint Mohammad Al Awar
Cabinet Member and Minister of Community Development
HE Najla Mohammed Al Awar was appointed as Minister of Community Development in the new Cabinet announced in February 2016 to focus on Emirati family and community. She was the Secretary General of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs since March 2006 until February 2016 where she oversaw government programmes and initiatives, reviewed government policies as well as worked on Cabinet Retreats in coordination with various government entities to address related issues.
She contributed to the establishment of the Legal Affairs Office at the General-Secretariat of the Cabinet that shoulders responsibility to draft government legislations and laws, prepares studies, researches and provide legal advice to Federal Government. She was involved in the establishment of the Executive Office of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as well as the Secretariat of the Dubai Executive Council.
HE Najla Al Awar also serves on the boards of a number of federal and local entities, such as The General Authority for Pensions and Social Security, The National Election Committee, The Higher Committee for the National Curricula Development, Education and Human Resources Council and Federal Demographic Council.
HE Najla Al Awar holds a degree in Science in Information Technology from UAE University, and has received extensive academic and professional training in the fields of management administration from the London Business School.
