His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber &lrmwas appointed as Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology in July 2020. Al Jaber has joined the federal government as Minister of State in 2013 and was tasked with various strategic portfolios in economy, politics, development, media, energy, infrastructure and sustainability in order to boost UAE&rsquos reputation regionally and globally.

Al Jaber holds a number of executive positions including: Chairman of the &lrmNational Media Council, Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Ports Company, and Chairman of Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, where he led UAE&rsquos successful bid to &lrmhost the headquarters of the International Renewable Energy Agency &ldquoIRENA&rdquo. &lrm

Al Jaber holds a PhD in business and economics from Coventry University in the &lrmUnited Kingdom, an MBA from the California State University, and a Bachelor &lrmin Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California, the United States.
