Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation launches Yammer to strengthen institutional communication

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation recently launched Yammer platform in cooperation with Microsoft to strengthen internal communication between the staff of the ministry.

The platform is considered one of the latest social networking services that serves institutional purposes.

Saif Al Suwaidi, Assistant Under-Secretary for the services and support sector, said that the launch of the platform parts with raising satisfaction levels of employees in order to improve a stimulating productive work environment and create supportive opportunities for excellence and functional innovation.

"Yammer aims to document the social and humanitarian relations between the staff away from the daily work routine through an atmosphere that enjoys a concept of exchanging work experiences and information, as well as open the door to view suggestions and innovative ideas, which in turn contributes affectively towards the Ministry," he said.

He stressed that the ministry's support to such initiatives stems from a belief of providing a work environment that cheers employees thus raise their performance levels, staff involved with the launch of the platform chat together, add information, experiences and comments, which had a deep impact in raising the level of satisfaction and increase the number of users.

Since its launch in November 2015, statistics show about 25 percent of total employees have registered, however, last month indicates a significant rise of about 70 percent increase.

On the other hand, the Ministry provided discounts booklet for more than 1,400 employees, the booklet contains a package of benefits and discounts at many shops and health services, leisure and restaurants.

Nonetheless, the human resources team will introduced more initiatives during the current year which will have a positive impact in achieving the objectives of the ministry to reach higher happiness points.
