UAE Strategy 2008-2010
The first UAE Government Strategy was launched to achieve balanced and sustainable development in order to ensure the prosperity of UAE nationals. This strategy established a new era of government work, coping with economic changes, focusing on the adoption of best practices with the aim of achieving prosperity on one hand and enhancing the country's position regionally and internationally on the other.
Six ministerial teams, comprising 16 ministers, various workgroups, and several government officials participated in drawing up this strategy, which was divided into six major areas:
Social Development: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (President), Minister of Education, Minister of Health, Minister of Labour, Minister of Social Affairs, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development.
Justice and Safety: Minister of Interior (President), Minister of Justice, Minister of Governmental Sector Development.
Rural Areas Developments: Minister of Public Works (President), Minister of Health, Minister of Economy, Minister of Social Affairs.
Economic Development: Minister of Economy (President), Minister of State for Financial and Industrial Affairs, Minister of Labour, Governor of the Central Bank, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs.
Infrastructure: Minister of Public Works (President), Minister of Environment and Water, Minister of Energy.
Government Sector Development: Minister of Government Sector Development (President), Minister of Health, Minister of Education, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs.
