Ministry of Infrastructure launches initiative to install charging stations for electric vehicles

Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development, today said the ministry has launched an initiative to establish charging stations for electric vehicles.

He added that the move is part of the ministry's efforts to support the green economy and sustainable development. He noted that the UAE aims to become a global leader in this area, and centre for the export and re-export of green products, as well as technologies to maintain a sustainable environment.

The minister said the UAE has been keen since its inception to develop its complete infrastructure with a high degree of quality and efficiency, catapulting it to advanced positions in the Global Competitiveness indices in the field of infrastructure quality in various forms.

He pointed out that the ministry seeks to raise the efficiency of the infrastructure in the state based on the international best practices in this area, and in line with the UAE Vision 2021 and national agenda.
