Mansour bin Zayed attends graduation ceremony

H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, attended today at Emirates Palace, the graduation ceremony organised by the office of scholarships of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs to honour 132 outstanding students on their graduation.

The graduates were granted the scholarships by the office to study in prestigious universities in the UAE.

The ceremony was attended by Shamma bint Sohail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, Ahmed Mohamed Humairi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD), Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Education Council, and a number educators, and parents of graduates.

Sheikh Mansour congratulated the graduates on their success, commending them for their determination to get high grades. He extended congratulations to the parents of the students. Sheikh Mansour deemed the success of each student an achievement for the UAE, and being part of the human resource development of cadres capable of leading the future knowledge society.

He said that the ministry will continue its support for students who wish to pursue higher studies in the most prestigious universities through the office of scholarships.

During the ceremony, Sheikh Mansour honoured the UAE Space Agency and the ICT Sector Fund for their role, in cooperation with the office, to sponsor students and direct them towards scientific and quality disciplines required by the labour market, and in line with the progress of scientific and technical development of the UAE. He presented the honorary certificates to graduates who have completed their study of Bachelor and Master programmes.

Al Humairi presented a memento to Sheikh Mansour in recognition of his great role in sponsoring the students.

The graduates who won the internal scholarship were 132 students in the years 2014 and 2015, of whom 102 obtained Bachelor, while 13 received MA, 16 obtained Diploma in Vet Sciences, and a female student obtained a PhD.

Each year, the Ministry of Presidential Affairs awards scholarships to distinguished students from across the United Arab Emirates. These students pursue academic studies in a myriad of majors including Engineering, Business Administration, Information Technology, Medicine, Pharmacy, Food Sciences & Nutrition, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mass Communications, Law, etc.
