Slain Emiratis to be treated as Saudi martyrs by Riyadh

Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, visited wounded Armed Forces personnel who are participating in Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.

During the visit to Zayed Military Hospital, Shaikh Mohammad inquired about the condition of Armed Forces officers receiving treatment and talked to them.

Shaikh Mohammad hailed the resilience of the officers and praised the efforts exerted by them to carry out their duty in defending righteousness and supporting their brothers in Yemen.

Shaikh Mohammad then spoke with the hospital’s doctors, and he was briefed on the injuries sustained by the officers, their condition and quality of treatment they are receiving.

Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, and a number of officials were present.

Meanwhile, Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, yesterday (Tuesday) received a telephone call from Julie Bishop, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia, who offered her heartfelt condolences on the martyrdom of a number of Emirati servicemen while taking part in the Arab Coalition’s Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.

Shaikh Abdullah thanked his Australian counterpart for her sincere feelings.

He also received a telephone call from Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, Spanish Foreign Minister, who offered his condolences.

Meanwhile, Prince Mohammad Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence of Saudi Arabia, has issued directives to treat Emirati and Bahraini soldiers who were martyred during Operation Restoring Hope as Saudi martyrs, materially and morally.

He said that “the blood of our martyrs will not go in vain and the coalition will continue its operations with determination to defeat the rebels and their supporters who tampered with the destiny of the brotherly people of Yemen and their attempt to destabilise the region”.

In Dubai, the Ministry of Labour launched a charitable initiative to dig water wells in needy countries in memory of the Emirati martyrs.

The initiative, which will be implemented in collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), signifies the ministry’s social responsibility.

Education for martyr's children.

The Ministry of Education has introduced a new committee to support the education of martyr's children.

Hussain Ebrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, announced the move, saying the ministry will spare no effort to provide all forms of support to martyr's children.

It is an independent committee that will be directly affiliated to the Minister of Education’s office.

The committee, set up in line with the directives of the UAE leadership, is tasked with providing educational, psychological and social care for martyrs’ children in appreciation of the invaluable sacrifices made by their fathers. The ministry will provide high-quality education to martyrs’ children and will do its utmost to provide psychological and social care as well as an inspirational environment to encourage them to excel.
