Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation in September 2014 to encourage and motivate innovation in the public sector by making available tools essential to develop organisational structures and procedures. The Centre also coordinates innovation labs in government entities to build capacity for innovation across the national workforce.

The Centre will build a national database for innovative government initiatives and international best practices in this field. It will also consolidate individual initiatives by government entities into a unified framework to better serve federal and local government entities in the country and preserve intellectual rights associated with innovations in this area. Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation will spread a culture of innovation and turn it into a daily practice in the government to make the UAE a global innovation hub.

Upon the directives by His Highness, the Centre will forge partnerships with specialised international institutions, universities and centres that drive innovation in government services. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has also underlined the importance of disseminating best practices in applying innovation in government services as he directed the Centre to welcome delegations from other countries, thus promoting UAE’s status as a leading destination of innovation in this area.
