629 Emiratis get AED390 mln in housing assistance
The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme on Tuesday approved AED390 million in housing loans and grants for 629 eligible Emiratis, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works and chairman of the board of directors of the national housing scheme announced on Tuesday.
The amount covers 518 residential housing grants and 111 housing loans, he said during a board meeting.
The approval of the assistance is as per the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of U.A.E. and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and is being followed up by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the minister added.
The move reflects the government's keen efforts in achieving happiness and providing modern housing units and decent living conditions and welfare for all nationals, the minister said, and stressed it is also part of efforts being made to achieve the goals of the UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda.
