Citizens to Be Entitled to Three-Year Contracts in Federal Entities and Two-Year Contracts in the Private Sector
Federal Law No. (17) of 2016 has been issued, amending some provisions of Federal Law No. (11) of 2008, which regulates human resources in the federal government and was issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE on September 26, 2015.
The new law stipulates that citizens hired by federal entities are entitled to a three-year contract, while those hired by private-sector institutions are entitled to two-year contracts – both contract types are eligible for extensions.
