Executive team of water indexes holds first meeting at MoE
The executive team of the National Agenda's water indexes held its first meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy (MoE) in Dubai. The meeting was chaired by HE Eng Fatima Al Shamsi, assistant undersecretary for electricity at the MoE. The team is responsible for preparing the water scarcity index and water productivity to GDP index.
During the meeting, Al Shamsi said that the National Agenda's water indexes measure the sustainability of water resources, the efficiency of their management and the efficiency of their usage in the country as the sustainability of water resources has strategic importance and direct impact on the lives of individuals in the society and the components of the ecosystem.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Company and Environment Agency - Abu Dhahi (EAD).
