Families of UAE Heroes Gather at the Second “Ramadan Majlis” in Sharjah
The second Ramadan Majlis organized by the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office and the Higher National Committee for the Year of Giving took place Sunday evening in Wasit District Council in Sharjah with the attendance of members of UAE Cabinet and senior officials.
The Majlis was attended by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Director of The Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office (MFAO) at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court, and by His Excellency Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. This comes as part of a series of events organized in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Cabinet to the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, and dedicated to all UAE heroes who bravely sacrificed their souls in the lines of duty, and to their families.
The Majlis commenced with the recitation of the holy Quran by Yousuf Hamam Tayr, representing Algeria, and a contestant participating in this year's edition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan opening remarks emphasized that the Ramadan Majlis reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who called for the continuous support of the UAE’s heroes’ families and the importance of maintaining direct contact between them, Government figures, and the rest of the community. He also noted that organizing these events is aligned with the framework of the Year of Giving dedicated to all UAE heroes and their families.
His Excellency His Excellency Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash said that the UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan , adopts a clear and consistent approach based on mutual respect, tolerance and moderation.
He added, "the solidarity among UAE people and the leadership has been manifested time and time again in the selfless sacrifice of UAE heroes to shield the country from any unlawful interference that may threaten its peace and security.”
Gargash also highlighted that “this has always been the approach adopted by the UAE since the founding of its union by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, (May Allah rest his soul in peace) who instilled in the UAE society a culture of respect, giving, and extending a helping hand on any possible level whether health, education, or humanitarian.”
"The UAE is proud of its people and is aware that they are the true wealth of this nation, and it spares no effort in supporting them and ensuring they lead a decent and prosperous life. Our youth in particular are a precious asset; they are our future and the torch-bearers of the UAE's continuous prosperity.”
His Excellency also addressed some of the UAE's milestones in the humanitarian field both regionally and internationally. He said that the UAE has always been in service of humanitarian causes and the first to provide help and assistance to those in need, regardless of their culture, religion, or ethnicity. The international community has recognized this approach, and the UAE is positioned amongst the leading states in global positive outreach and humanitarian work.
The families expressed their appreciation of the Ramadan Majlis initiative and thanked the leadership for maintaining close communication and providing all kinds of support.
The Ramadan Majlis is an initiative of the Year of Giving and it reflects the interest of the country's leadership to maintain continuous communication with the families of UAE heroes. The initiative is being organized across the UAE in the presence of members of the UAE Cabinet, community leaders, honorable guests of the State and participants from this year's edition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award. The topics discussed address various social, national and educational aspects.
