Follow-Up Committee of President's Initiatives approves infrastructure projects

The Follow up Committee of the Initiatives of UAE President has approved a number of infrastructure projects in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

In its meeting today, chaired by Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, the committee approved awarding a contract for a recycling water from Fujairah Wastewater Treatment Plant, for re-use as irrigation water for roadside lawns and parks in the city of Fujairah, Mohamed bin Zayed City and for the farms in Al Bidya and Dadna.

The committee approved awarding a contract for renovation works at the Ministry of Education's schools.

Also approved was awarding consultancy and construction for the solid waste treatment project at Umm Al Qaiwain Bio-fuels Plant.

The Committee sanctioned payment of AED 3.6 million as drainage network fees for the housing projects in Al Raqayeb, which will see 123 houses built there.

The Committee reviewed progress of work at the project to develop Kalba Beach in Sharjah.

The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials.
