Government Communication Experts Conclude the First Stage of the Executive Education Program
Participants in the Executive Education Program in Government Communication completed the first stage of the program which is organized by the Government Communication Office at the General Secretariat of the Cabinet at the Ministry of the Cabinet Affairs and Future and the American University of Sharjah.
This second edition of the program comes as part of the government's efforts to build up communications capabilities across the UAE governmental entities, in addition to keeping abreast with the latest trends and best practices in government communication.
"The first stage of the Executive Education Program included a series of activities and field visits to a number of media institutions as well as a number of interactive workshops," said Noaf Tahlak, Executive Director of the Government Communication Office at the General Secretariat of the Cabinet to the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future. “The Government Communication Lab was also launched to create a platform for participants to present their projects and develop communication campaigns to better engage with the public.”
"The second phase of the program which will continue throughout the month of October focuses on the participants’ graduation projects, these projects will be reviewed by a committee of experts and academics specialized in government communication. We are looking forward to learning about their innovative ideas in government communication and seeing them apply some of it in their respective jobs,” Tahlak added.
A number of workshops and sessions focused on the latest trends in media and modern communications, especially in the field of social media and its relevance to government communication. Participants were also introduced to the concept of gamification to support government initiatives and programs. Field visits were also organized to a number of media entities including Dubai Media Incorporation and Thomson Reuters news agency.
The participants from different federal and local entities expressed their appreciation for the efforts made to ensure the success of the program. They will be awarded with an “Expert in Government Communication” certificate upon the completion of the program.
