Government Communication Network Holds Meeting at Bloomberg Regional Headquarters

The Government Communication Network held its second meeting this year at Bloomberg regional headquarters at Dubai International Financial Centre, with the participation of Communication teams from entities across the federal government.

This comes within a series of meetings organized by the Government Communication Office at the General Secretariat of the Cabinet to the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, to increase the capabilities of government communication teams and implement best global practices.

“Teaming up with Bloomberg to hold today’s meeting reflects our keen interest to create partnership with the private sector as a key component in the communication system,” said Noaf Tahlak, ‎Executive Director Government Communication Office at the General Secretariat of ‎the Cabinet to the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future. ‎ “We seek to identify key lessons from Bloomberg extensive experience in the communication field and apply them in our everyday work,” she added.

"Partnerships and exchange of experience between government and private sector is vital to maintain UAE’s excellent reputation in communication field locally and internationally, it also contributes to enhanced government communications overall," said Tahalk.

During the meeting at Bloomberg headquarters, communication teams were introduced to the new Media Message system, which was developed by the General Secretariat of ‎the Cabinet to the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future. The system was put in place with the aim of unifying the voice of UAE government and communicating UAE's key message to media outlets both in UAE and around the world.

The meeting also included a presentation from Bloomberg and an orientation tour at the headquarters where attendees were acquainted with the company’s daily operations and were briefed on the company’s future plans for the region. Bloomberg is one of the world's largest media companies providing news. The headquarters in Dubai, which is one of 10 headquarters around the world, employs more than 108 employees covering Middle East and North Africa. A tour at Bloomberg TV station also took place, it is known for being equipped with the latest imaging and TV broadcasting technologies.
