Khalifa issues several decrees

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has issued Federal Decree No. 14 for 2016 amending some provisions of Federal Law No. 1 for 1972 with respect to the mandates of ministries and powers of ministers.

 

According to the decree published in the recent issue of the federal official gazette, the name of the Ministerial Services Council will be replaced by the Ministerial Development Council wherever mentioned in any federal legislation.

 

Similarly, the name of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development will be replaced by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development.

 

The name of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs will also be replaced by the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, while the name of the Ministry of Health will be replaced by the Ministry of Health and Prevention and that of the Ministry of Labour by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

 

Sheikh Khalifa also issued Federal Decree Law No. 15 for 2016 establishing the Emirates Educational Establishment.

 

According to the decree published in the recent issue of the official gazette, a federal public establishment called Emirates Educational Establishment, will be set up and have legal personality, financial and administrative independence and legal capacity as necessary to take actions.

 

The establishment, which will report to the Cabinet, will be based in Dubai but may set up other branches and offices inside the UAE by a Cabinet decision.

 

The decree will take effect from the date of publishing and all provisions in violation of this decree will be revoked.

 

In addition, Sheikh Khalifa issued Federal Decree Law No. 16 for 2016 with respect to the Emirates Health Services Establishment. The decree was published in the recent issue of the federal official gazette.

 

According to the decree, a federal public establishment to be called the Emirates Health Services Establishment will be set up and have legal personality, financial and administrative independence and legal capacity as necessary to take actions. The establishment, which will report to the Cabinet, will be based in Dubai but may set up other branches or offices inside the UAE by a Cabinet decision.
