Khalifa names Attorney General

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued the Federal Decree No.158 of 2016, appointing Counsellor Dr. Hamad Saif Mohammed Musallem Al Shamsi as Attorney General. President Khalifa has also issued another Federal Decree No. 157 of 2016 on the retirement of the UAE Attorney General, Counsellor Salem Saeed Kubaish for reaching the legal pension age. The decrees are effective from the date of their issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette. Al Shamsi obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Sharia and Islamic Studies, UAE University in 1998, and in 2004, he also received a Master’s Degree in private law from the Arab Republic of Egypt. Later, he was sent to study law in the United Kingdom, where received a PhD in 2011 in Middle East Law. He had also chaired a number of legal and legislative committees in the country. He served at the judicial and administrative departments.
