Mansour bin Zayed chairs Ministerial Development Council meeting on performance and government work ecosystem

Chaired by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the Ministerial Development Council held its meeting today, Wednesday 16 March 2022, at Expo 2020 Dubai, addressing a number of initiatives and legislations designed to support the government work ecosystem.

The Council’s agenda included discussions of several policies, related to the child protection in Education Institutions in the UAE, aiming at ensuring the safety of children, respecting their dignity and promoting their well-being, in addition to providing a healthy and safe educational environment for each child without any discrimination.

The discussions also included policies that strengthen Nursing and Midwifery professions, unify the efforts of their cadres and support the qualification of national leadership models in the two fields, as well as supporting the country’s readiness in case of crises, emergencies and health disasters, and attract specialists and professionals to these professions.

The meeting discussed a number of legislations that protect labour rights including unemployment, work related injury and occupational disease in the private sector, as well as reporting, investigation and compensation mechanisms specified.

Also, the meeting discussed legislations on the protection of new plant varieties, aiming to grant specific rights to genetic engineers and protect them, improve agricultural productivity and the quality of plant varieties, and diversify plant products offered to consumers. The council reviewed legislations on the biosafety of genetically modified organisms and their products, in addition to reviewing a number of reports in various fields.
