Minister of Climate Change and Environment: The UAE Achieves a Breakthrough in Date Farming
His Excellency Dr Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, revealed that the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) – funded by the ministry – has accomplished a significant breakthrough in the production of “Ajwa” dates, which usually only grow in Saudi Arabia.
This achievement reinforces the UAE’s position in agriculture, H.E. Al Zeyoudi continued, adding that the ministry has recently purchased new equipment that would significantly increase the UAE’s ability to cope with the scarcity of its water sources.
