Ministerial Council for Services discusses mechanisms of financing federal universities and colleges

 The Ministerial Council for Services discussed on Sunday the mechanisms of financing federal universities and colleges based on their performances.

Held at the Presidential Palace under the chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Ministerial Council for Services, the meeting reviewed a study prepared on the development of federal university and college financing mechanisms.

In other business, the Ministerial Council for Services approved a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Environment and Water to prepare a draft law amending Federal Law No. 41 of 1992 on pesticides.

The meeting also touched on the state's strategy for negotiations of free trade agreements based on boosting trade interests, the UAE's foreign strategy and the opening of foreign markets for UAE's exports and investments, to enhance the competitiveness of the country's exports, attracting foreign investment to the country, in addition to removal of trade barriers.

The council reviewed a number of reports pertaining to the State Audit Institution.
