Ministerial Development Council discusses Succession Planning and Talent Pool project
As part of the government's keenness to develop the human competencies across the federal government and to optimise human resources, the Ministerial Development Council has discussed the project of Succession Planning and Talents Pool in the federal government.
H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Chairman of the Ministerial Development Council, said that the succession planning will improve the quality of government services and ensure the sustainability of leadership at the level of a given ministry or authority.
The council also discussed the establishment of an executive regulation to outline the rights of labour workers and employers in the field of support services. The executive regulation will also specify the financial obligations for recruiting offices in different scenarios, for example, in case of employing a non-compliant workers or in case of contract termination.
In order to achieve UAE’s strategy with regards to early childhood care, especially in the nursery stage, the council affirmed the importance to establish nurseries for the children - under four years old - of female employees in all ministries and federal entities. It also discusses assigning the task of licensing of kindergartens to the Ministry of Education, in order to implement best practices and ensure the safety and development of children in a healthy environment.
On a different note, the Ministerial Development Council reviewed the establishment of a database of all free-zone companies in a single commercial registry in line with the government’s objective to enhance the competitiveness of the national economy.
The council also reviewed the final report of the Audit Bureau on the results of the audit of the final financial statements of Emirates Transport and Services Company for the financial year ended 31st December, 2017, and the final financial statements of the Emirates Development Bank for the same financial year. The council also reviewed a report on the participation of the UAE delegation in the International Solar Alliance conference which took place in India earlier this year and affirmed its commitment to invest in clean energy and promote sustainable environmental solutions.
