Mohammed bin Rashid attends graduation ceremony of UAE Government Leaders Programme

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has affirmed that qualified national leaders are the primary driver of achieving the UAE vision and securing a future government led by exceptional cadres who are capable of employing their creativity to achieve excellence worldwide.  Sheikh Mohammed said: each step we take has its own requirements and leaders. “Now, we are entering a different phase, filled with challenges that need leaders who are able to encounter problems and put Emiratis' needs and aspirations as top national priorities and enhance the country’s position as a global hub by 2021,” Sheikh Mohammed added.  His Highness comments came during the graduation ceremony of graduates of the UAE Government Leaders Programme’s Innovative Leaders Programme and Government Performance Diploma. Held at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, the ceremony was attended by Dubai Deputy Ruler and Finance Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affair His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and a number of Cabinet members.  Sheikh Mohammed said that the UAE seeks to prepare a generation of exceptional leaders who are able to make a positive change in the government’s work, generate innovative ideas that can anticipate future challenges by utilizing smart solutions and motivate teams to be the leaders of tomorrow. “Our vision for the future government requires that everyone be a prudent and determined leader who sees opportunities in challenges," His Highness added.  Sheikh Mohammed said that today’s graduation is a new achievement towards empowering qualified and experienced national cadres. He noted that the UAE government has succeeded in building models of young innovative leaders and experts in the field of government performance. He also urged the UAE government leaders to have a teamwork spirit so as to achieve the national strategic objectives and bring about happiness and welfare to the people of UAE.   The first batch of graduates included young innovative leaders from local and federal entities as well as private sector firms. They completed an intensive training programme for 18 months. The programme was implemented in coordination with universities and international institutions in the field of executive training such Ashridge Business School, Duke Corporate Education, University of Oxford, Cambridge School of Business and Stanford University.
