Nahyan bin Mubarak Launched “The Book Bank" Initiative
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, has launched “The Book Bank" initiative, as part of initiatives launched by the ministry in Month od Reading. The initiative focused on the establishment of channels for receiving books (whether used or new) from community members, institutions and publishing houses.
This will provide an opportunity for exchanges of books between those interested in reading, either by delivering them directly to the ministry or placing them in dedicated containers in malls. Books will be classified and displayed in exhibitions organised at the ministry’s centres across the UAE to be sold to the public at nominal prices to encourage purchasing books and sharing knowledge.
