President's Initiatives Committee approves AED 314 million road projects
In implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Follow-Up Committee of the Initiatives of the UAE President has approved a range of housing and service development projects for citizens in different parts of the country at a total cost of AED 314 million.
The projects, which were approved by the committee during a meeting at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, chaired by Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Follow-Up Committee of the Initiatives of the UAE President, included projects of maintenance, development and raising the efficiency of the road between Al Taween Roundabout - Emirates Road - Union Street from Union roundabout to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Street, where it has approved implementation at a cost of about AED140 million.
The committee also approved the development of the Maliha Road project from Sheikh Khalifa Street to Bad'a, at a cost of about AED174 million.
The committee agreed to start work on the infrastructure for construction and completion of 500 houses for citizens in the Muteena area in the Emirate of Dubai, which is part of the President's initiatives to establish housing projects there, and approved the award at a cost of AED 54 million.
The committee also approved the construction and completion of a sewerage network station and sewage treatment station along with a network of internal roads in the Aharai area in the Emirate of Sharjah, at a cost of AED 30 million.
The commission approved the draft study of using treated sewage water from the purification plant in the Emirate of Fujairah. It approved the adoption of budget for implementation of the project and the assigning of a specialist consultants for design and implementation.
Al Zaabi said that these projects are an addition to the developed infrastructure in the UAE that will facilitate the movement of citizens and residents, as well as raise the level of security and safety on the roads.
The meeting was attend by a number of senior officials.
