Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, issued Ministerial decree No. 213 of 2017, to amend the regulations of Cabinet decree No. 24 of 2012 regarding the regulation of Civil Defence Services in the country issued by the Ministerial decision No. 505 of 2012.

The resolution which was published in the latest issue of the official newspaper, obliges all federal and local authorities to refer all the engineering designs and schemes of the buildings to the General Directorate of Civil Defense, to ensure that they meet the requirements of preventive safety from fire.According to the resolution, the buildings and installations shall bear all the costs (at a maximum cost of Dhs50,000) of the extinguishing processes in the event of a fire break, if it is established that they did not comply with the fire safety requirements of fire.
