Sheikh Khalifa issues decrees

Sheikh Khalifa issued a number of federal decrees with respect to ratifying agreements with a number of governments of brotherly and friendly countries, appointing and terminating the services of members of the diplomatic corps and appointing judges and heads of courts.

The decrees have been published in the recent issue of the official gazette.

These include the federal decree no.164 for 2016 inviting the Federal National Council to convene; the federal decree no.165 for 2016 ratifying an agreement on military co-operation between the UAE Armed Forces and Ukrainian Ministry of Defence which was signed in Abu Dhabi on Feb.23, 2016.

 

Other decrees include the federal decrees no.166 and 167 for 2016 ratifying two agreements with Andorra, one for avoiding double taxation and preventing fiscal evasion and the other for encouraging and protecting mutual investments. The two agreements were signed in Andorra La Vella on July 28, 2015.

 

The federal decree no.168 for 2016 ratifies an agreement with South African government to avoid double taxation and prevent fiscal evasion which was signed in Pretoria on Nov.23, 2015. The federal decree no.169 for 2016 ratifies an agreement with Mauritania to avoid double taxation and prevent fiscal evasion which was signed in Nouakchott on Oct.21, 2015.

 

Sheikh Khalifa also issued the federal decree no.170 for 2016 ratifying an agreement on air transport services with Madagascar which was signed in Dubai on Oct.29, 2015; the federal decrees no.171, 172 and 173 for 2016 ratifying three similar agreements with Slovenia, South Sudan and Cuba which were signed in Ljubljana on Sept.17, 2015, Dubai on Dec.17, 2015 and Havana on Oct.5, 2015 respectively.

 

The federal decree no. 174 for 2016 terminates the service of Dr Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi as the UAE representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena), while the federal decree no.175 for 2016 appoints Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zuabi as member of diplomatic and consular corps in the rank of minister plenipotentiary of the first class at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation. The federal decree no.176 for 2016 appoints Sultan Mohammed Saeed Hamad Al Shamsi as Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation for International Development Affairs.

 

The federal decree no.177 for 2016 terminates the service of Dr Saeed Khalfan Al Dhaheri, while the federal decree no.178 for 2016 stipulates that Dr Abdul Wahab Meer Ahmed Abdoul, head of the Federal Supreme Court to be pensioned off, and the federal decree no.179 for 2016 appoints Mohammed Hamad Al Badi Al Dhaheri in his place.

 

Sheikh Khalifa issued the federal decrees no. 181 for 2016 appointing Dt. Mohammed Ibrahim Saeed Al Mualla as undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Academic Affairs and the federal decree no.182 for 2016 appointing Egyptian nationals as heads of federal courts of first instance.
