UAE General Secretariat of the Cabinet organizes a program to approve and train secretaries in government boards and committees

The UAE General Secretariat of the Cabinet at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future has launched a program to train and approve secretaries in governmental boards and committees, with the aim of enhancing the efficiency of government boards and committees and qualifying their secretaries.

The program, targeting more than 90 boards and committees secretaries from 38 federal government entities, is designed to equip the participants with the necessary skills to enhance their understanding of the roles and responsibilities of government boards’ and committees’ secretaries.

The program offers theory and practice workshops that shed light on the roles of these boards and committees. Besides, the program highlights the best practices related to the secretaries’ work, the follow-up of the implementation of decisions, the preparation of reports and the most important criteria and indicators for the evaluation of boards and committees.

The program echoes the major role played by the secretaries in the various government boards and committees.

Secretaries not only play a pivotal role in the governance and decision-making within these committees and boards, but also provide an organizational service to all members with a view to achieving strategic objectives.

In this regard, Faisal Ahmed Al Ali, Executive Director of the Cabinet Support Sector at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, said, “The program supports the General Secretariat of the Cabinet’s efforts to develop government work, keep abreast of the latest developments and adopt news tools.

” Al Ali added, “The General Secretariat of the Cabinet is keen to prepare, empower and develop the competencies of government boards’ and committees’ secretaries. This will enhance collaboration across government entities and different boards and committees; ensuring the achievement of objectives assigned to these entities”.
