His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday announced on his Twitter account that the UAE had topped all countries of the world in providing development and humanitarian aid for 2016 as compared to its national income, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Sheikh Mohammed said President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, pushed the UAE to be number one worldwide in giving, noting that the UAE is determined to consolidate and ensure the sustainability of this value among the new generations. Officials from different instituitions, including Dubai Cares, Community Development Authority, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group and Seha hailed the UAE’s position as the most generous aid donor in the world.
